Although this is a clumping bamboo, it is an open clumper, so it needs more room to spread out than a lot of other bamboos.  It has handsome green canes with lots of foliage.  If you want to create a bamboo grove, this is an excellent choice.  Just keep the lower branches trimmed off and thin out the canes once the plant gets large.
