Cortinarius cedretorum  Maire 1914                                                           Collections: Europe

This is the classical Cortinarius cedretorum from montane spruce forests. There is some confusion in the literature regarding the spore size, as in many sources it is shown as significantly smaller. Cortinarius elegantissimus is similar in colors, but has larger spores and is associated with beech.

KOH5%: distinctly lilac on the context (on the yellowing parts according to Brandrud).

Spores: 12-14(15) x 7-8.5µ
