Velkommen til Benny's MSX side på nettet!

Welcome to Benny's MSX page on the net!

The languge chosen here is English for practical reasons.

Soon there will be more info on MSX here.

I have captured a few pictures of my computers here please have a look!

I have decided to put all the pictures on this one page, I understand that those of you with slow connection may find it tiresome. Also this page is my first attempt at homepage thats why its not perfect, but since its mostly ASCII code it should work well with most browsers.

About me: I am 27 years old and started with computers back in 81 with ZX80, I then bought a ZX 16kb but found it limiting, then I bought the 48k. In 1984 I got my first MSX the Sony HB 75P a bit later I bought the diskdrive for it (HBD50) later I bought the Spectravideo 728 because it was on sale for just Nkr 1999,-. My first MSX2 was in 1987 and was a Sony HBF-700 and later the Philips NMS 8255 The last MSX I got was the Panasonic FS-A1 GT.

News: New computers soon to be added with pictures: Tandy/Radio Shack TRS80 CoCo model 3 with games.Atari 130XE, Atari 65XE, Atari 800XE Also I will take better pictures of the ones I have here, because some of them are really bad!

NEW COMPUTER ADDED: SORD M5 AND MATTEL AQUARIUS Take a LOOK!

Found this picture from china, take a look

My Sanyo Wavy 70FD
For those who do not know this one its a MSX2+ (19268 colors, enhanced
basic, Kanji) Originally it came with 64kb ram and 128kb Vram. I have
extended the ram to 128kb to make it more useful. All the original
stickers are on it like the day it was new!

My Sony MSX1 HB 75P connected with the HBD 50 diskdrive
Really Funny MSX1 with 64kb Ram and built in database. The
diskdrive is original. I guess this pack would be expensive
on places like ebay. I have about 1200 games for it + lots
of software. (All original software!)

My Philips NMS 8255 and the Sony HBF700
The Philips have 512k Ram and 192Kb Vram its a MSX2 with loose
keybord. The Sony is in the same style, but is original, with
256Kb Ram, I have an extra 720kb DD 3.5" for it.

This is a picture of my Philips VG8235
Its a 128k Ram and 128K Vram MSX 2 with 3.5"SS diskdrive
BTW: the picture is not taken by me.

My Spectravideo SV 318, its actually not an MSX but its
pretty close. Comes with 16k Ram. I have the taperecorder +
games on tape for it, plus 1 cartridge (Frantic Freddy)

Picture of my Spectravideo 328 .
The label is not entirely correct it had 64kb ram and 16kb Vram
very close to a MSX 1 (SVI 728) I often play a game or two on it!

My Spectravideo SVI 728 MSX computer
This is propably my most used MSX, its a MSX1 with 64kb Ram
I played with this one for almost every day in 5 years.

My Panasonic FS A1 GT MSX Turbo R
I have 2X diskdrives for it and 1Mb Ram
This is the BEST MSX ever made! with both Z80 and R800 processors.
It has MSX Dos 2 and 2mb Japanese software built in. It also has midi ports built in FM Pac
, PCM. I have lots of programs for it.

My Philips VG 8020 MSX 1
MSX 1 with 64kb Ram
This model sold very well in Germany and Holland. I like it because it have both expansion ports
on top of the machine.

Sony MSX 2+ Computer
The last one from Sony, like all the other Japanese MSX2+ it had only 64Kb Ram and 128kb Vram
Why the hell did they not put 512kb or 1Mb in it!

Spectravideo SVI 738 Xpress here with harddrive
The best MSX 1 ever made? Built in SS 3.5" diskdrive, RS232 and came with CPM disks
I sold these back in the 80's for cheap money, today I'm a bit sad because I did not keep the
original box. Another thing to note, this MSX 1 did not run Nemesis 3 and Salamander , all my other
MSX 1 computers did that. Strange?

Beleive it or not! Another MSX computer!

The Panasonic A1 ST here with moonsound!
This model came before the A1GT

My Toshiba HX-22GB MSX1 This is a 64kb MSX 1 with
built in wordprocessor and RS232C
All in all this is a VERY good MSX 1 computer. I have the
original diskdrive for this one.

Other Non MSX Computer I own! Yes I also have something else ;)

This is a Atari XE, I also have the original tape recorder + games
I am now trying to find more games for it and a diskdrive.
I bought this one new in 1994 for Nkr 399,- It have 64kb Ram and basic. The tape recorder I have
is a Atari 410.

This is my Sharp MZ 700
I hope to get some programs for it really soon so that I can try it out. It have 64kb Ram and
the basic most be loaded from cassette into the monitor(yes the bootup is called monitor)

This is my Spectrum 48k plus with kempston interface.
Most likely my most used spectrum! I have a spare one in case it
get broken.

This is my Spectrum +2A 128kb with built in Taperecorder
Its one of the latest Spectrums you can find and has the
+3 diskbios built in.
Ohh and I have a spare one just in case........ it also comes with the light gun plus software.

This is my Timex 1000 pretty small machine :-) It have 2k ram
I have an extra 16k Ram pack for it + ZX printer that is
smaller than a CD, plus software.
I also have the ZX 81 (1k ram) X 2 and 2 more 1000's

This is one of my Spectrum 48k's beautiful little thing this one.
I have the kempston interface and lots of games for it.
I have spare ones just in case it get broken :-)
I also have the Spectrum 16k but since it looks almost the same except more grey
keyboard I have not taken picture of it.

Just had to include a picture of them all! :-)

Pictures of my CGL SORD M5, This is a 1983 Japanese, very RARE computer. Rubber keys, Z80A 3.58mhz, 16kb Vram, 4kb Ram, sound:3 chords, 1 noise, 7 special sounds.

Pictures of my Mattel Aquraius model 1, This machine is very rare, it was only made for a short period of time and never had success, it was made by the Barbie Doll company Mattel. Techs are 3.5Mhz Z80, 10kb Rom, 4kb Ram. The expander seen on the picture adds 2 more sound channels, extra expansion and Joystick connectors. It have 16 colors and rubber keys.

Atari VCS 2600 gameconsole Very popular in its days, spectravideo even made something for it (keyboard?) I have 100's of games for it. Have spare one of this too in original box, never used. My commodore 64 (also has the 1541 diskdrive) My REALLY old C64 (made in England) with original 1541 diskdrive and original box for both. I have many games for it. (original!) Another picture of the C64C here with the diskdrive and taperecorder Just to add the CBM64 had 64kb ram! And was one of the most popular 8bits in the 80's All my friends had one, but I had MSX!!!! My Amiga 600 with 1Mb and harddisk MC68000, memory expansion to 2Mb and clock My Atari Lynx 4096 colors 16/32bit! Very good! I have 2 of them both boxed with lots and lots of games! Amiga 500 with harddisk! Basically the same as A600, but less powerful graphics, I have expanded it to 2Mb And Yes I have a spare one jut in case :-) My Atari STFM with 2.5Mb Ram and 2x disks A couple of them also. The rival to Amiga 500 same CPU, but worse grpahics and sound, but it had built in MIDI and therefore it was popular in music environment. My Amiga CD32 with Promodule makes it with 8Mb Ram, Harddisk, 2x diskdrives and PC keyboard! This is more or less like an A1200, just better! My Amstrad CPC 6128 with GT 65 monitor This one had 128kb ram and built in 3" diskdrive. In addition I have an external 3.5" diskdrive for it. This machine competed with the CBM 64, MSX and Spectrum. It did not do very well in Norway. My Amstrad 464 (64kb) with the GT64, external diskdrive, MP1 module. This amstrad had built in cassette player. My Acorn Electron here with Plus 1 and Plus 3 expansion As you can see it has a 3.5" diskdrive I have some games for it, but even more utilities like Pascal, Iso Pascal, Fortran, View etc... One of my Tandy/Radio shack TRS80 model II also known as CoCo I have tested it now, and its a great computer. The basic is Microsoft and reasonable powerful. The computer have 16kb Ram, about 8.5kb is free after the video processor have taken its part. This is not a Z80 machine but a Motorola 8bit. Connectors back are RS232 style joysticks, cassette interface and serial. Too bad it does not have A/V connections and just TV (its a NTSC machine and I have PAL) so I can only use B/W. Laser 50 computer. Its a really funny and small computer, it has built in basic and 2kb ram, you can store up to 10 basic programs in memory at once without loosing it at power off. The unit operates at 4X AA batteries that last for 200 hours of use. The machine also have built in beeper for sound effects. Also works as a complex calculator. A couple of pictures of my Tandata TD4000. A strange machine with 16kb Ram, built in 1200/75 modem, cassette port. This one is in its original box, with manuals leads etc.... Value of this one is unknown because I have never seen one on sale before. If you have seen it before let me know!
