Polar Willow: Salix polaris (Synonyms: Salix polaris ssp. pseudopolaris, Salix polaris var. selwynensis)

A female plant of what appears to be polar willow as seen on the gravel bar in Little Stony Creek within about one-quarter mile downstream of the Park Road, Denali National Park and Preserve............June 17, 2012. Note the bright red pistils and white-hairy bracts, the latter of which helps separate this from Setchell's willow.
