Notes: This
was the record that brought the band their worldwide appeal.
With material like "Sunday Bloody Sunday" and "New
Years Day" the record couldn't help but be a hit. Intelligent
vocals, spare, thoughtfully placed guitar accents. Still a record
to hold up for comparison with other classics. This was before
the band grew too large for small crowds and fashion and a dance
beat weren't part of the program. I believe that I've read that
the cover subject was a neighbor of Bono's and it was a matter
of the photographer just being in the right place to capture
the shots. Excellent album and a great cover. Can't ask for more
than that can ya?
