Inonotus glomeratus is a parasitic canker rot of sugar maples. It is also found on red maple and beech. It produces a sterile black, cracked and crusty growth that is more elongate than Inonotus glomeratus. Canker rots enter wounded treesand only produce fruiting bodies after the tree has died.
