The Euphorbia's family is approximately rich of 300 kinds and about 10000 species. Those which possess the succulent caracter are especially originating from Africa, but there is some species in the Indies and in Arabia. Among those one counts the Ricinus, Heveas, Crotons and the manioc. Their forms are very diversified and their sizes can vary between some inches to ten meters for some African species(Euphorbia candelabrum for example). They can be easily identified by the fact that their wound leaves escape a white latex which is corrosive. The sheets are in general very small and disappear in the dry season . The flowers are unimportant
