Common Name MacPherson's Bulbophyllum [Australian Original Collector of species 1900's] - In Australia The Small Eyelash Orchid

Flower Size .4" to .6" [1 to 1.5 cm]

Found in Queensland, Australia at elevations of 450 to 1400 meters as a mini-miniature sized, clumping, warm to cool growing epiphyte found predominately on trees but occasionally on rocks mostly in rainforests, with a creeping, branching mat forming rhizome giving rise to close set, almost globular, somewhat compressed, very crowded, inconspicuous pseudobulbs carrying a single, reclining to erect, green to reddish, thick, fleshy, channeled leaf that blooms in the fall and winter on an erect, wiry, .8 to 2" [2 to 5 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence carrying a non-resupinate flower

This species is best grown on a cork or tree fern mount in a cold humid environment with moderate light and water levels, fertilizing regularly.
