Common Name Sander's Phalaenopsis [English Orchid Grower 1800's]
Flower Size 3 to 3.4" [5 to 8.5 cm]
Endemic to the Philippines on branches of trees covered in moss at elevations of sea level to 500 meters as a small sized, hot, pendant growing epiphyte with elliptic to oblong-elliptic, obtuse rounded, tapered to the conduplicate base, with green suffused with purple and overlayed with silver leaves that blooms in the mid spring to late summer on an arching-erect, to 32" [80 cm] long, racemose or few branched, paniculate inflorescence with minute, triangular, concave, scarious floral bracts carrying 15 to 20, showy, membraneous flowers.
