Common Name The Bent Pleurothallis

Flower Size 1/8" or less

Found in Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Brazil at elevations of 600 to 1400 meters in semi-wet forests, wet montane forests and primary cloud forests as a mini-miniature sized, warm to cool, growing, creeping epiphyte with ramicauls entirely enveloped by sheaths and carrying a single, apical, ovate, fleshy, conduplicate, dark olive green, purple flecked beneath, mostly prostrate leaf that blooms in the late spring through earlier fall on 1 to 2, apical, racemose, pendulous, 1 to 2" [2.5 to 5 cm] long, 3 to 9 flowered inflorescence with up to 5 flowers open at any one time.

The flowers can vary in color from dark ruby red to almost white and the side lobes may be more or less distinct.
