Daphne striata Trattinick (1814)

Native to the European Alps and the Dolomites / up to 0,3 m high and 0,5 m across / on stony scree and alpine meadows always on higher elevations / semi-evergreen / scented / difficult to cultivate cause Daphne striata needs the cool and partly moist conditions of the mountains  

looks similar to Daphne cneorum but Daphne striata is glabrous (flowers and leaves) and the leaves are longer than those of Daphne cneorum

Daphne x thauma is a natural hybrid with Daphne petraea.

other hybrids are: Daphne x ampla / Daphne x hauseri / Daphne x lundellii
