Redberry Juniper can be found growing in gravelly, rocky, limestone and gypsum soils of the Edwards Plateau. It is a tree or shrub that can grow to a height of 3 to 20 feet. It has multiple stems and aromatic, evergreen, scale-like leaves. It is of poor forage quality for wildlife and livestock. Redberry Juniper is a very hardy plant and will root sprout when damaged by fire.
