This was growing last week. An elegant group of purple brown caps with a lighter edge on white stems. They are the largest C. decipiens that I have found in Abney. Usually they are a lot smaller and have a tendency to split at the edge as they expand. This group, in wetter conditions, was able to expand without the splits and just grow larger, straighter and stronger. Microscopically they are the same as the smaller caps.
