Tom Cruise and Christopher McQuarrie Developing Several New Projects Together

One of Hollywood’s most dynamic duos have set their sights on a slate of projects as ambitious as they have always been. Top Gun: Maverick star Tom Cruise and one of the producers of that same film, Christopher McQuarrie, have a lot on their plate considering they are actively developing several new productions together.

One of these projects would be an original song and dance-style musical they are intending to create as a star vehicle for Cruise. Another one of these productions would be an action film with the goal of turning it into a franchise.

The duo is also interested in Les Grossman, the character played by Cruise in 2008’s Tropic Thunder. At the moment, it is unclear if they intend to create a film centered around the character, or just use him in one of the aforementioned productions.

McQuarrie and Cruise are currently working together on the set of Mission Impossible 8, which has a release date of June 28th, 2024. The star would’ve portrayed the character of Ethan Hunt for 28 years by the time the movie speeds into theaters.
