This member of
the Vitaceae family was given this name by Martin
Vahl Henrichsen in 1790. It is found
in the eastern Africa, growing in a well drained soil with little to
some water and some to lots of sun. The vines will reach for up to
nine meters. The flowers are green over yellowish white to yellow
The generic name is derived
from the Greek word κισσος kissos, meaning 'ivy'. The species
name rotundifolia means round-leaved.
