Specks called this Kleinia abyssinica var. hildebrandtii, Charles Jeffrey 1986. I'm am fare from sure, that is right!

This member of the Asteraceae family was given this name by Alwin Berger in 1905. It is found in central Africa, growing in a well drained soil with some water and lots of sun. The caudex can grow up to five centimetres in diameter, the whole plant can grow up to 100 centimetres. The flowers are bright red, Kleinia abyssinica var. hildebrandtii might have yellow flower?

The genera is named after the German zoologist, Dr Klein,1685-1759. The species name means 'from Abyssinia'; present day Ethiopia.
