This member of the Euphorbiaceae family was given this name by
Walter Bally in 1959. It is found
in southern Congo, Zaďre and
northern Zambia, growing in a well drained soil with
some water and some sun. The caudex can grow to five
centimetres in diameter, the entire plant to 25 centimetres in
height. The
flowers are yellowish green.
The genera name
from the Greek monos;
'one' and -aden; 'gland', referring to the solitary gland.
The species name means 'disc-like' for the caudex. |
