This member of the
Moringaceae family was
given this name by Georg Cufodontis in 1957. It is found in south
western Ethiopia, Kenya and Somalia, growing in a well
drained soil with some water and some to lots of sun. The truck
can grow to 70 centimetres, the tree can grow from six to twelve
meters. The flowers are greenish-white to yellow with a slightly greenish
centre. The genera name
from the Malabar vernacular name; Moringo. The species name
from the Greek stenos 'narrow' and petalum 'petal'. |
