Boardman Rotarians received a visit from a member of Rotary International's very first "happy hour club" last week.
Dayna Revetti, granddaughter of Fred Moran, visited Tuesday and shared her story of just how important Rotary has been to her as she has traveled across the country with her husband. Dayna told the story of how, when she received the Paul Harris Fellowship just before moving, her grandfather explained how important Rotary can be when it comes to creating lasting friendships, having fun and doing good at home and around the world. When she arrived in Salt Lake City, Utah, her current home, she joined the Rotary Club of Mill Creek. A small, mostly female group, they hold their meetings in the evening, and they take turns hosting mixers at their homes. They also participate in a service project monthly and host a wine tasting fundraiser annually. Dayna also had the opportunity to work with YouthLink and spent the summer doing work in Cambodia.
Dayna will be relocating soon to Pittsburgh, where she said she will be investigating Rotary clubs ... hopefully another "happy hour" club!
Thanks to all who participated in the annual Christmas box delivery on Sunday, Dec. 21! There 52 families reached in the Boardman area. Thank you to Brian Governor for coordinating the outreach.
