Education and Training
 

To obtain an SIA license, there are no formal academic entry requirements. Applicants must be over 18 and need to complete an SIA-approved Level 2 Award in door supervision within the Private Security Industry. To get a front-line license, which is issued by the Security Industry Authority you must need to pass the identity and Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checks. 

You’ll need to complete 4 SIA door supervisor training modules and pass the exams. Modules include: 

  • Working within the private security industry
  • Working as a door supervisor
  • Conflict management
  • Physical intervention skills

The conflict management and physical intervention elements of the Door Supervisor course will give you practical applications of the techniques you learn. This helps you in dealing with the psychology of the members of the public.
