Honey Bush. This is the lesser known cousin of Melianthus major, similar in many ways but with a few significant differences. In all ways it is smaller. Smaller in overall growth and in the broadness of the leaflets so that it is not as imposing, but having said that it is no less charming and with green rather than blue foliage it is easier to place. It is a little hardier as well. Like its cousin the flowers are curious as much as beautiful, but the large green seed pods are a positive attraction. The foliage has the same curious smell, like hazelnuts to some, rather less appealing to others !

At Dorset Perennials you will find a husband and wife team, Dawn and Martin, who have been plantsmen and nurserymen for nearly 25 years. Our nursery, situated in the North of Dorset close to the Somerset border, is full of the plants we love.
