Aphanostephus skirrhobasis

Lazy daisy

Lazy daisies with buds closed.
Aphanostephus skirrhobasis, or Lazy daisy, blooms throughout the spring and summer on Texas beaches and sandy meadows, in classic white daisies with yellow heads. Its leaves are varied from lobed to toothed. The plant may sit erect or sprawl. Before opening, its globular buds show pink highlights from the underside of the petals.
