Arnold Vosloo: My career in fitness

When I started this blog, I wanted to provide people with the knowledge that would help them achieve their fitness goals and leave them feeling more inspired and motivated. With that being said, from now on, every Monday I will be getting someone that has inspired me to write a guest post on something they believe only they can offer, be it training advise, career advise or just something interesting.

Todays guest poster is Arnold Vosloo, he is a 24 years old muscle model and serial entrepreneur that lives in South Africa. Arnold has been an amazing source of inspiration for me from the very beginning of his career after he placed 4th in his first show at WBFF South Africa in 2015. The reason Arnold inspired me so much was because after placing 4th he traveled to America to compete in WBFF Tampa where he won and received his pro card. Directly after this he traveled to Las Vegas to compete in the 2015 WBFF Worlds where he placed in the top ten, Keeping in mind he managed to do all of this in the space of a few months. Fast forward to 2016 Arnold competed in the WBFF European Championships where he placed 2nd. Eventually Arnold gave up his pro card to compete in the NPC New York State Championships where he 1st place and was the Overall Show Winner. I believe Arnold to be South Africa’s top athlete with regards to the sport of bodybuilding and I think it is only a matter of time until we see him competing is shows like the Olympia.

I first got involved in rugby at a young age, which awarded me the position of playing professionally for the The Golden Lions up until 2012. In addition to playing on the field, the sport demanded a lot of fitness practice and weight training, something which I enjoyed. I have always been driven by competitiveness and training towards my physical strength and physique. I love the challenge of consistently bettering yourself. When you want something really bad, then staying motivated and disciplined is never a problem. I further began to compete in Male muscle modelling in 2015, the kick start of my bodybuilding career. Since then I have been able to achieve two National championships, and be ranked amongst the top Athletes in the world.

Having a great passion for physical fitness fuelled my life, dedication to the sport, and science of bodybuilding. My advice to those who are interested in pursuing a career in bodybuilding or the health and fitness industry is, love what you are doing first, learn to enjoy it and develop a passion for the sport, and then try to excel in it and master your career. The more knowledge and experience you have, the more successful you will be. I decided to pursue this path with my coach and mentor, Vic Ally, along the way. With his wealth of knowledge that he has accumulated over his thirty plus years of trial and error, Vic has taught me what true work ethic involves, and under his guidance I have transformed my physique and most importantly my life.

In return, based on my involvement in the industry and my knowledge and experience I have obtained while travelling for my career, I have had the privilege of being a role model and mentor to those closest to me, as well as my followers on social media. I post content which includes training routines and diet and supplement choices, that can help others with their own fitness goals and nutritional knowledge. I am in a position in my career where I am able to inspire and motivate others, and in turn, this fuels my own goals and plans for the future.
