Salix Helvetica commonly known as Swiss willow is a dwarf growing, rounded deciduous shrub which forms a compact growth of lance shaped leaves coloured a light green and silver and almost silk like undersides. A reliable all round garden plant that can be grown well in the majority of garden types, planting locations and schemes where it will grow well. Can furthermore make a good container or pot plant which can be grown on balconies, patios and gardens without grass where it will form a dwarf structure.
Salix Helvetica care
Plant the Salix Helvetica in a sunny, partially shaded area of the garden with moist, well drained soils where it will thrive. Hardy to UK winters which requires no protection and should cope well in cold weather still. In early spring the Salix can benefit from a light prune shortly after flowering which will encourage a real bushy and healthy growth the following seasons.
