Chatteris

Chatteris is a lovely market town, with individual shops, nestling in the Cambridgeshire Fens and a great place to visit. It holds many delights including a museum (exhibits include bronze age weapons) and beautiful flower displays for the Town in bloom competitions displays. Chatteris, like many Fen towns use to be an island before the Fens were drained. It is reported that Chatteris was the last refuge for Boudica.

Chatteris Little Acre Pocket Park Nature Trail

Chatteris Pocket park is a delightful area which gives a welcoming home to nature. Several volunteers plan, manage and maintain this park for the benefit of the town of Chatteris and visitors wishing to experience a outdoor venue for walking and enjoying nature. It is linked to other walking routes, too and from the town.

After purchasing and transforming our 1.58 acre ex sewage works in 1994 and planting it with fruit trees, shrubs and trees, installing a dry and wet pond, bug site and picnic area we have maintained the site for the enjoyment of visitors.

Join us for guided walking tours and narrative on the development and content of the park and its future, with a volunteer.
