Winner of 4 Academy Awards^®, Ben Burtt is the creator of the iconic sounds of Star Wars, including the laser swords, R2-D2’s beeps, Chewbacca’s growl, and Darth Vader’s heavy breathing. Among his many other legendary credits are Raiders of the Lost Ark, E.T., and Invasion of the Body Snatchers. He was also the voice of Pixar’s Wall-E and has been named a Disney Legend. Ben’s early career was strongly influenced by the sound effects of the original 1933 King Kong; in 1996, he directed a new stop-motion Kong sequence for the IMAX documentary Anything Can Happen.
