Biography

Finished his career at Florida as a Heisman Trophy finalist following the 2020 season... Completed 552-of-813 passes for 7,386 yards and 69 touchdowns in 28 game appearances with the Gators.

2020: Kyle Trask threw for 4,283 yards and 43 touchdowns in 2020 as he led one of the most explosive offenses in the country in the Florida Gators.
The Manvel, Texas native led the FBS in total touchdowns (46) and touchdown passes (43), while ranking second in passing yards (4,283)... Having started at quarterback in all ten games of the regular season, as well as the SEC Championship Game and the 85th Cotton Bowl Classic, Trask began his senior campaign with a jaw-dropping performance during Florida’s season opener at Ole Miss where he completed 30 throws on 42 attempts for 416 passing yards and six touchdowns. Trask became the sixth Gator in school history, and the first since Chris Leak (Nov. 13, 2004 against South Carolina), to throw six touchdown passes in a game. Those six touchdown passes tied Joe Burrow's record for most touchdown passes in a SEC opener, and helped him become the 10th player in SEC history to throw six touchdowns against a conference opponent... During Florida’s home opener versus South Carolina, Trask completed 21-of-29 passes for 268 yards and four touchdowns to become the third player in SEC history to throw at least 10 touchdowns through the first two games of a season (joined Tim Couch and Terry Dean). Additionally, Trask became third Florida quarterback since 1997 to throw four touchdowns in four different games in their career against SEC teams (joined Rex Grossman and Doug Johnson)… A week later, Trask completed 23-of-32 passes for 312 yards and four touchdowns against Texas A&M in his home state of Texas… His 312 yards was the sixth career game of 300-plus passing yards, moving him past Tim Tebow and into a tie with John Reaves (1969-71) for the sixth-most 300-yard games in program history… His fourth and final touchdown pass against Aggies was the 40th of his career, moving him past Terry Dean (1991-94) for the ninth-highest total in school history... Trask combined for 996 yards through the first three games of the season (at Ole Miss, vs. South Carolina and at Texas A&M), the most by a Florida QB since Rex Grossman (2001)… Against Missouri, Trask completed 21-of-36 passes for 345 yards and four touchdowns, becoming the first Gators quarterback to toss four-plus touchdowns in four straight games and setting an SEC record for the most touchdown throws through the first four games of a season with 18… Against Georgia Trask threw for 474 yards, a new record against the Bulldogs and the second-most passing yards is a single game in school history. He completed 30-of-43 passes and four touchdowns, joining Danny Wuerffel and Shane Matthews as the only Gators in history to throw for four touchdown passes against Georgia. His 474 yards against the Bulldogs made Trask the third Gators quarterback in program history to log multiple 400-yard games in a career, the second with four 300-yard passing games against an SEC opponent and the fourth with three consecutive 300-yard passing games against conference opponents… Trask maintained a record-setting pace leading the Gators to a 63-35 victory over Arkansas. Once again, Trask threw six touchdown passes, breaking Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa’s SEC record for the most passing touchdowns through the first six games of a season with 28. Nationally, Trask became just the fourth FBS quarterback since the start of 1996 to toss at least four touchdown passes in six consecutive games and the first in Gators history to complete four-plus touchdown passes six different times in a season. Additionally, Trask joined Tim Tebow and Danny Wuerffel as the only Gators to post multiple seasons of 25 passing touchdowns… At Vanderbilt, Trask reached his 31st touchdown of the season with 26-of-35 passes completed for 383 yards and three touchdowns against the Commodores. His 31 touchdowns tied Tulsa’s David Johnson (2008) and Texas Tech’s Graham Harrell (2007) for the second-most passing touchdowns through the first seven games of a season in FBS history. Additionally, Trask set the SEC record for passing touchdowns through the first seven games of a season and the single-season SEC record for touchdown passes in conference play… Trask completed 21-of-27 passes for 256 yards and three touchdowns against Kentucky, reaching his 34th touchdown pass of the season and tying Rex Grossman (2001) for the third-most passing touchdowns in a single season in school history.  Additionally, he became the first quarterback in school history to throw three-plus passing touchdowns in eight straight games, breaking Danny Wuerffel’s school record of seven in a row (Sept. 21-Nov. 9, 1996). The tally also improved his streak of 200-yard passing games to 16 straight contests, the second-longest streak in school history... Trask completed a career-high 35-of-49 passes for 434 yards with four touchdowns at Tennessee, helping the Gators clinch their first SEC Championship Game berth since 2016. His 35 completions at Rocky Top rank second on the program’s single-game record list, only behind Rex Grossman’s 36 against Georgia in 2002. Trask’s four touchdowns made him the ninth FBS signal caller since 2000 with seven games of four-plus passing touchdowns in a season. In addition, Trask extended his school-record streak of games with three-plus touchdown passes to become the first FBS player in the last 15 seasons to accomplish the feat in nine consecutive games. With 433 passing yards, Trask joined Wuerffel as the only quarterbacks in Gators history with at least three career 400-yard passing games, and became the first quarterback in school history to post three such games in one season... Trask tied his career high 474 passing yards against LSU, completing 29-of-47 passes with two passing touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns. With his second passing touchdown of the night (his 40th of the season), Trask broke Danny Wuerffel’s 1996 school record for most touchdown passes in a single season. Additionally, Trask improved his streak of 200-yard passing games to 18 straight contests, passing Shane Matthews 17-game streak for the longest run in UF history... Trask led the Gators to the 2020 SEC Championship Game in Atlanta, facing the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide. In Atlanta, Trask completed 26-of-40 passes for 408 yards with three touchdowns. With his 408 passing yards, Trask eclipsed Rex Grossman’s single-season school record and became the fifth player in SEC history to post a 4,000-yards passing season. His 26 completions also moved him past Shane Matthews for the second-most completions on Florida’s single-season record list with 285. In addition to his air raid against the Tide, Trask also posted a career high 15 carries, adding a rushing touchdown to his resume.
