Native to tropical western Africa, this unique orchid almost looks like a caterpillar from a distance, full of flowers in late Winter to early Spring. In a clumping growth form, the tiny flowers sit on a purple red inflorescence and bloom yellow and red resembling a clam shape. Such a cool orchid that is easy to grow!

Description
This orchid grows in bright indirect sunlight as well as gentle direct sunlight, direct morning sun being better than direct afternoon sun. Grow on a tree branch, a piece of cork, or pot in a medium of orchid bark, perlite and charcoal. Water well during growing months starting in late Winter, allowing the roots to dry in between watering, and less in the cold months when the plant is not producing new growth. Fertilize when new growth is active.
