MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Harvard women's swimming and diving completed competition at the Minnesota Invitational with another impressive day in the pool, notching season bests across multiple events.
Harvard Highlights
- In diving, Remi Edvalson placed second on the platform with a score of 240.75, while Nina Janmyr capped off a busy week, placing third (217.75).
- In the 200 back, Samantha Shelton recorded her fastest times of the year, qualifying for the final in 1:57.97 before achieving the NCAA B standard with a 1:56.73 finish in the final (10th overall. Anya Mostek qualified for the final with a 1:59.40 mark in her preliminary heat before recording her season best in the final (1:57.51). Also in the final were Molly Hamlin (1:58:65), Kate Hazlett (2:00.58), and Addie Rose Bullock (2:01.84).
- In the morning session of the 100 free, Samantha Shelton swam her fastest time of the year, qualifying for the final in 50.35. She bettered that mark in the final in 50.15, placing 18th overall. Molly Hamlin (50.48), Mandy Brenner (50.57) and Darlene Fung (51.08) all qualified for the finals as well with their fastest times of the season.
- In the 200 breaststroke, Aleksandra Denisenko qualified for the final with a morning prelim time of 2:16.08, then placed 12th in the final in 2:15.79, her fastest time of the year. Eisenhauer also qualified with her season best (2:17.00), finishing 15th in the final, while Kaia Li (2:17.31) advanced to the final as well, improving on her time in the evening session (2:17.05), along with Sophia Zhang (2:18.89-2:18.20), Grace Yoon (2:19.38-2:18.62), and Liz Boyer (2:19.87-2:19.09).
- In the 200 fly, Abby Carr swam Harvard's best time of the year in the final (1:58.99), achieving the NCAA B standard. Grace Yoon (2:02.59), Marcella Ruppert-Gomez (2:08.36), and Natalie Whalen (2:12.56) also swam in the 200 fly final.
- Harvard's top 400 free relay team – Anya Mostek, Mandy Brenner, Molly Hamlin, and Samantha Shelton – placed 9th, recording the fastest time of the year for the Crimson in the event (3:21.76).
- In the 1650 free, Marcella Ruppert-Gomez led the Crimson, placing 17th in 17:01.14.
