Sophora secundiflora ‘Silver Peso’

Sophora secundiflora 'Silver Peso'
Silver Peso Texas Mountain Laurel

'Silver Peso', a selection of the Texas Mountain Laurel, has distinctive silver-grey foliage. The leaves are covered in small, fuzzy hairs as opposed to the regular species which has glossy, waxy leaves. It is evergreen, forming a small tree or large shrub. Very slow growing. The purple wisteria-like flowers have the wonderful scent of grape bubble gum. The blossoms contrast nicely with the silver foliage. Thick seed pods containing bright red, poisonous seeds follow the flowers. Simply clip off the pods and dispose if you have concerns.
