Continuing with its 140th-anniversary celebrations, esteemed Japanese watchmaker Grand Seiko has now launched two additional limited-edition timepieces extending its nature-inspired theme.

Basing off the SLGH007 first released back in February, the new SLGA008 takes on the same woodgrain-designed dial reminiscent of tree rings with an overall aesthetic emblematic of Grand Seiko’s design language established back in 1967. This time around, the watch is constructed from 18k rose gold paired with a brown-toned dial, offering an even more vintage feel over its platinum counterpart.

Rounding out the two-piece release is the SLGA007, a sportier stainless steel model paired with its own bracelet. Inspired by the quiet surface of Lake Suwa near the watchmaker’s manufacturing plant, the timepiece encases a deep blue dial with a subtle wave pattern glimmering through, striking a brilliant contrast against the exceptionally polished sword hands and gold-colored Grand Seiko logo. Powering both watches is Grand Seiko’s brand new Caliber 9RA2, an automatic Spring Drive movement carrying 38 jewels and capable of delivering up to 120 hours of power reserve.

For those interested, the wood-patterned SLGA008 will be limited to just 140 pieces and retail for a price of $49,000 USD, while the lake-inspired SLGA007 will be limited to 2,021 pieces and go for $8,700 USD. Learn more over on Grand Seiko’s website.

Elsewhere in watches, Hublot has unveiled a rainbow-studded Big Bang Tourbillon.
