Description

Plumas lupine has knockout purple flowers in the spring that are highly attractive to bees and other pollinators. This nitrogen fixing perennial wildflower is native to northern California and southern Oregon where it grows in mixed conifer forests, pine woodlands, sunny rocky areas, slopes, and disturbed sites, and can be particularly abundant and robust following wildfire. Typically growing around 1 ft. tall, plumas lupine has palmate leaves with acute tips. It prefers full sun to part shade and medium to dry soil with good drainage. Fairly deer resistant once established.

Lupinus onustus seed packets contain 1/4 teaspoon of seed.
