Description
Platycerium elephantotis is large-growing Staghorn variety with highly textured, long, skirt-like leaves. Unlike other Staghorn varieties, the leaves do not fork. Great for hanging baskets or slab mounting. The upright, wavy leaves found at the top of the plant form a crown.
Staghorn ferns grow best in a well-drained, moist, long fiber sphagnum moss. Allow to dry slightly between waterings. This fern is winter dormant so reduce water but maintain humidity. Feed with a dilute fertilize monthly during active growth from May to September. Protect from frost!
