Ratcat celebrate 30 years

Ratcat celebrated 30 years as a band with Toys Went Berserk & Spod at The Factory in Sydney on 14th October. Maynard was on hand as DJ/MC and the night went a bit nuts. Hear from Simon Day, Nic Dalton, Andy Jarvis, Coo Bennett and a lot of over excited fans.

Go onstage, upstage and backstage with me. Your name is on the door.

30 years of Ratcat

Friday night in Sydney at The Factory, Ratcat and Toys Went Berserk celebrate 30 years of making noise and music.

I’ve been invited to be the DJ and MC for the night and I’ll be playing some of my favourites from the 90s.

Just a small sample includes Clouds, Bjork, The Sharp, Caligula, Frente, The Cardigans & TISM.

Here’s the Facebook event details

Have a listen to Simon Day back in the day, 1993.

Simon Day interview last year looking at the history of the band from a nearby bus stop.

See you there on Friday night!

Simon Day of Ratcat

Ratcat have played Perth, Melbourne and Sydney recently. Simon Day talks about hearing his songs on the radio for the first time and how you handle not having a hit song. Don’t Go Now, That Ain’t Bad and lots of Ratcat history. Simon Day is here to dispel those rumours he was hit by a kangaroo and has been in a coma since 1993.

Sunday Afternoon Fever 16.5.1993 – Simon Afternoon Fever

Simon Day from Ratcat joins Simon Marnie from SBS for Simon Afternoon Fever. Non Simonesque participation from Ru Paul, Thierry Mugler, Greg Fleet AND The Sharp play live in the studio. Callers tell us just what they think of the Simons & Simones of 1993. Regulars Mrs Sinatra is getting over an illness cloud & Lance with The Hollywood Kids does not disappoint with the 90210 gossip.
