Tigridiopalma magnifica, belonging to the wild peony family, is a perennial evergreen herb with a very short stem covered with red coarse hairs, and has short, slightly woody rhizomes. It is found in the damp shade under the dense forests of valleys, beside streams, rivers, or on the soil accumulated on rocks in the southwestern part of Guangdong, China, at an altitude of about 480 meters.

Tigridiopalma magnifica is currently a national first-class protected plant in China. This genus only contains one species, Tigridiopalma magnifica. Its leaves are large and aesthetically pleasing, it has a strong shade tolerance, and its flower buds are small, bright, and attractive. It can be used as a high-grade foliage plant for indoor and courtyard viewing.
