Elephantopus tomentosus

Elephantopus tomentosus is a flowering plant native across the southeast. It is naturally found in moist to dry forests, and grows well in shade/part-shade habitats. It can tolerate full sun in cultivation, and is drought-resistant. It has long fuzzy basal leaves that are present throughout the year, but less robust in the winter. It sends up flowering stalks in summer that often reach around one foot tall. The small, light purple flowers attract pollinators. Elephantopus tomentosus is a great option for a dry shade groundcover.
