Keith Duffy has been rushed to hospital and is set for surgery after falling ill in Dubai.

The Boyzone singer, 49, has shared a photo of himself lying in bed with his knee bandaged up with medical staff around him as he thanked them for helping him ‘back on his feet’and making sure the procedure can wait until he’s back home.

Keith wrote on Instagram: ‘A huge thank you to all the doctors and nurses at Dubai’s Mediclinic who helped get me back on my feet for tomorrow’s big show in Dubai.

‘Surgery on hold till I get home but a little patchwork, some pain management, and the show must go on.’

The musician – who hasn’t revealed the full future of his health scare – is set to perform tonight alongside former Westlife star Brian McFadden as their Boyzlife supergroup hits the the Duty Free Tennis Stadium in Al Garhoud, UAE.

The duo are packed of an epic lineup alongside fellow 1990s boyband icons Five and Blue.

Back in 2019, Boyzone had to take to the stage without Keith during the No Matter What hitmaker’s 25th anniversary tour.

He fell ill and had to stay in hospital in Thailand overnight, which forced him to miss their show, and he rejoined the group in Australia.

The band said in a statement at the time: ‘Keith was taken ill before the gig here in Bangkok this evening and has been admitted to hospital on the advice of the local medical team.

‘Our brother will be back on his feet as soon as possible and we thank you for all your wonderful support in the meantime.’

Earlier this year, Keith was present to support Boyzone bandmate Ronan Keating after the sudden and tragic death of his brother Ciarán Keating.

Keating, who was in his 50s, died in a car crash in July on the way to a match his son was playing at.

Ronan was one of the coffin pallbearers at the funeral at St Patrick’s Church in Louisburgh, Co Mayo, with Keith among the first to express his condolences and post a memorial message on Instagram.

Ronan sang This Is Your Song towards the end of the emotional service, which he wrote originally for his mother, who died from cancer in 1998; the Marie Keating Foundation was set up in her honour.

Keith was seen among the mourners at the funeral, supporting his former Boyzone bandmate.
