Mike Reiss is one of the leading voices on New England Patriots football, his first full-time job coming in 1997 for the team’s official newspaper.

Since that time, Mike has covered the Patriots for the MetroWest Daily News, Boston Globe and ESPN. He joined ESPN in 2009, playing a pivotal role in helping to launch ESPNBoston.com, and remains with the company today as he follows the Patriots on a daily basis and his work appears regularly on the ESPN.com, SportsCenter, NFL Insiders, NFL Live and ESPN Radio.

Mike’s willingness to embrace new ways to cover the Patriots has helped him carve out a unique niche in the competitive Boston media market, tracing back to 2002 when he started the “Reiss’ Pieces” blog on Boston.com. He was one of the first reporters to embrace the immediacy of reporting on a sports team and his interactive approach, featuring weekly mailbags and chats, has been a staple of his work.

In 2015, Mike authored his first book, with Patriots Hall of Famer Troy Brown. “Patriot Pride: My Life in the New England Dynasty” (published by Triumph Books) has exceeded initial expectations and is on its second printing.

A lifelong New Englander, Mike grew up in Framingham, Massachusetts and later attended the University of Massachusetts (BS Sports Management, 1997).

He and his wife, Sigalle, have two children and reside in the Boston area.
