Highlights
Euphorbia decaryi (Guillaumin): This creeping caudiciform is unique in its wavy leaf shape and yellow-orange, three petaled flowers. It spreads as a mat with stems that grow primarily underground and emerge resembling tiny palm trees. These do very well in bonsai pots but can add a lot of interest to any pot. This plant is fully rooted in a 3.5" pot.
PLEASE NOTE: Euphorbia contain a white, latex sap that can cause skin irritation or allergic reaction. Use gloves and eye protection to handle.
Euphorbia will not survive a hard frost, but if there is a risk of freezing temperatures they can be brought indoors to grow on a sunny window sill or under a grow light. They need bright sunlight, great drainage, and infrequent water to prevent rot. Pick containers with drainage holes and use well-draining cactus and succulent soil with 50% to 75% mineral grit such as coarse sand, pumice, or perlite. Water deeply and wait for the soil to completely dry out before watering again.
