2008 Highlights: (08/29 at RPI): Had three stops, including a great save to knock the ball aside with just twelve seconds remaining, almost sending the game into overtime...(09/20 vs. Richard Stockton College): Returning to the lineup after missing five games with an injury, made a crucial save on a penalty kick attempt and finished with three saves...(09/24 at Kean University): Made one save to preserve the win for the Knights...(10/1 at Ramapo College): Made three saves for NJCU in the first half...(10/11 vs. City College of NY): Was unchallenged in 45 minutes of net time in NJCU's fourth shutout of the season...(10/13 vs. Brooklyn College): Combined with Manny Lojo and Julian Cucco for NJCU's fifth shutout of the season and 196th in the 50-year history of the program...(11/1 at Rutgers-Camden): Made five saves for his first shut-out of the season...(11/12 at Mount Saint Mary's College- ECAC Quarterfinals): Made two saves for his second consecutive shutout and 13th of his career...

(09/05 vs. John Jay College): Stopped five shots—including a first-half penalty kick and the ensuing rebound—to register his first career shutout. He made three saves in the second period to preserve the shutout.... (09/08 vs. College of Staten Island): Stopped six shots in the first half to register his second straight shutout and extend his scoreless streak to 207:31. He has not been scored on in a non-penalty kick situation in a span of 285:10... (09/09 vs. North Carolina Wesleyan College): Stopped five shots for the Knights. He had his scoreless streak snapped at 263:55 to make the score it 2-1...  (09/15 at William Paterson University): Opened his NJAC career with three saves for his third shutout of the year... (10/13 vs. Montclair State University): Kept the shutout intact, as his third save of a penalty kick in five attempts this year. NJCU led 1-0 at the half despite being outshot in the period, 14-5. Finished with seven saves to notch his seventh shutout of the season... (10/15): Named the NJAC Defensive Player of the Week for week seven of the 2007 season. He will be featured in a future issue of the NCAA News after surviving a brain aneurysm in June 2005, has been nothing short of sensational since he was plugged into the starting lineup as a true freshman.  He is 13-3 on the season as a rookie, currently ranks second in saves (69) and shutouts (7) in the conference, fifth in saves per game (4.31), and sixth in goals against average (1.00), shutouts per game (0.44), and save percentage (.812)... (10/16):  The rookie was selected as the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Metro Defensive Player of the Week. He posted three shutouts in a 3-0 week for NJCU and made was proved to be a season-changing stop of a penalty kick that helped vault the Gothic Knights into sole possession of first place in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. The award is for the ECAC's sixth awards period of the season... (10/20 at The College of New Jersey): Finished with four saves to notch his eighth shutout of the season. It was his fourth consecutive shutout and fifth in six games, and he extended his scoreless minutes streak to 363:54. NJCU also had a team save. NJCU is one game shy of matching the most consecutive shutouts in school history...(10/22 at SUNY Farmingdale):  Finished with three saves to notch his ninth shutout of the season and extended his streak of consecutive scoreless minutes to 453:54, breaking the individual school record of 446:56 by Jeff East from October 14-25, 2000. Viola has only allowed one goal in the team’s last 630:00 minutes of action. The 453:54 stretch is the second longest streak of scoreless minutes by the team. Two NJCU keepers combined for a string of 592:52 from August 31 to September 17, 2003...(10/22): Named New Jersey City University Men's Athlete of the Week... (11/10 vs Castleton State College (VT) at NJIT; NCAA First Round): Made four saves, including two sensational back-to-back leaping stops within five seconds of each other in the 71st minute... (11/11 vs Hamilton College at NJIT; NCAA Second Round): Collected six saves for NJCU as both teams were even in shots at 15-15, in a physical game in which 42 fouls and six cautions were issued... (11/14): Selected as the NJAC Rookie of the Week for week 11 of the 2007 season. He is the first NJCU player to receive Rookie of the Week accolades this season. Overall in the NJAC statistical rankings, he currently is listed tied for first in saves (97), second in shutouts (11), third in goals against average (0.82) and save percentage (.836), fifth in saves per game (4.22) and seventh in shutouts per game (0.48)... (11/17 vs. Montclair State University; NCAA Second Round): Finished with four saves; NJCU also had one team save. MSU outshot NJCU 14-10 overall... (01/05): Had his inspirational life story chronicled by the NCAA in a recent article in the November 19, 2007 issue of the national collegiate athletics publication, The NCAA News. The article appears on the backpage of the newspaper, in the "Endzone" section, and makes Viola the first known NJCU athlete to ever appear on a cover of The NCAA News.
