ATHENS, Ga. – The Northern Kentucky baseball program suffered a 15-5 setback against Southeastern Conference power Georiga at Foley Field on Friday.

FINAL SCORE: Northern Kentucky – 5, Georgia – 15 (7 innings)

RECORDS: NKU 2-3 (0-0 HL), UGA 5-0 (5-0 SEC)
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Jake Paulick led the way for the Norse with a big game at the plate. The redshirt freshman went a perfect 2-for-2 with two home runs, three RBI, two runs scored and a walk.
- Mitch Wood added a 1-for-2 afternoon that featured a home run, two RBI and a run scored.
- Cleary Simpson had a 1-for-2 day at the dish that included a run and two bases on balls.
- Brennan Rowe scored a run for NKU as he went 1-for-3.
- Tyler Shaneyfelt also added a hit (1-for-3 overall).
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Georgia jumped out to a quick 10-0 lead after the first inning of play.
- Paulick got Northern Kentucky on the board in the top of the second with a solo blast to center field to make it a 10-1 game.
- The Bulldogs answered back with a run in both the bottom of the third and fifth to push their edge to 12-1.
- Paulick did it again in the top of the sixth with another home run, this time a two-run shot, which was quickly followed by a two-run homer off the bat of Wood to make it a 12-5 contest.
- Georgia closed out the victory with three runs in the bottom half of the sixth.
 
NEXT UP 
The Norse and Bulldogs are set for another battle on Saturday, February 24. First pitch is set for 2 PM ET and the game will be played in front of a national audience on SEC Network +.
