Armed Response: Seth Rollins

Updated: May 15, 2018

Armed Response is a thriller/ action film produced by Wesley Snipes, Gene Simmons (yes, that KISS guy) and Michael J. Luisi, featuring the cover WWE superstar, Seth Rollins and Wesley Snipes. WWE studios is the production company for this film.

Armed Response tells the tale of a group of elite and trained operatives who are tasked to uncover what happened to the previous team. They find themselves trapped in a military compound and start to experience a strange and horrific phenomena that killed the previous team.

The movie got off to a good start. It kept me on my toes and questioning who were these people, what happened at the compound and what killed them. However, as the group split off to search for clues in the compound, it became a little boring and predictable. For example, in the scene where Brett (Seth Rollins) and Riley (Anne Heche) were opening doors to check if it was clear, it took too long and the suspense level quickly dipped. It was obvious that they were going to find something but it took about more than four doors and four 'clear' to get to the point. By then, we already knew they were going to find someone's body because of the other teams.

There was a great reversal - the reveal of the team's dark history. But other than that, the entire movie was pretty much stale.

I'm no artificial intelligence expert, but I've seen better artificial intelligence in other movies. The movie got to the point where I was just like "What?" because I got confused. And I was so mad at the end where only Riley survived. I felt that it was pathetic of Gabriel (Dave Annable) died just like that, even though he was not the "main" character.

What was believable was Seth's heel character. Brett was a huge jerk and Seth portrayed that well. And as much as I love Seth, I definitely did not like this movie. Sorry Seth. I'd only give it a 3.5/10.
