Quarterback Tommy DeVito among Giants’ undrafted free-agent signings

Joe Schoen is not a believer that he has to spend the days immediately after the NFL Draft filling every spot on the 90-man roster.

He wants to sign undrafted free agents and bring in players for the upcoming rookie minicamp who have some sort of legitimate shot to actually make the team.

Schoen is not interested in bringing in “camp bodies” in order to get to the 90-man limit.

The Giants selected seven players in this year’s draft, leaving them with eight open spots on the roster.

Schoen needed one of those spots for a quarterback and he went with Tommy DeVito, who will be on the field Friday for the start of the two-day rookie camp.

DeVito, a New Jersey native who starred at Don Bosco Prep, spent his first four college years at Syracuse before transferring to Illinois, where he started 13 games in 2022.

The Giants will bring in Air Force QB Haaziq Daniels to the rookie camp and reportedly work out as a running back.
