Plants annual or perennial herbs, climbing, prostrate, or sometimes erect. Leaves pinnately compound with (1-)3 leaflets. Inflorescences axillary, of flower clusters. Calyces 4-5-lobed, the upper pair of lobes united, forming ean entire or bifid tip; coroallas yellowish, glabrous; banner petals free. Pods compressed.
Macrotyloma includes about 24 species, all native to Africa and Asia. Two species grow in Somaliland and Somalia.
