Distribution: Native to Southeast and parts of East Europe (Balkan Peninsula to Ukraine and Crimea) and Western Asia according to The Euro+Med PlantBase (source: ILDIS World Database of Legumes, 2010) and the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens Kew).
Habitat: Found in open dry habitats – grasslands, rocky terrains, sparse bushland, edges and clearings of mixed oak forests.
Flowering period: Late spring to summer (MAY, JUN, JUL).
