Myosoton aquaticum (L.) Moench (syn. Stellaria aquatica (L.) Scop.)

Taxonomy: Fam. Caryophyllaceae// Genus: Myosoton// Species: Myosoton aquaticum (L.) Moench.

Determined according to the botanical key provided in The Flora of the Republic of Macedonia (Micevski, 1993) as Stellaria aquatica (L.) Scop. The accepted name in The Euro+Med PlantBase (source: Marhold, 2011) is Myosoton aquaticum (L.) Moench.

Distribution: Native from Europe to West Siberia, China, Vietnam according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens Kew).

Habitat: Near rivers and streams and other wet habitats.

Lifeform: Annual; therophyte according to the Raunkiær system.

Flowering period: Summer- autumn: JUN, JUL, AUG, SEP.
