Jack Black slams talk of early retirement as ‘fake news’

He is the gatekeeper of his own destiny.

Jack Black has decided not to stop making movies after suggesting this week he was considering early retirement after the release of “Jumanji: The Next Level,” a new video shows.

The Tenacious D singer and movie star said in a story published by news site Balance on Tuesday that he wanted to make another record with the metal band, and “maybe one more movie.”

“I’ve been saying for a long time that [Jumanji] is the last movie. We’ll see,” Black told Balance. “I’m looking to wrap it up pretty soon. Ride off into the sunset.”

But a new video obtained by Entertainment Tonight shows Black, 50, rebuffing his earlier comments as “fake news.”

“I’m not retiring. I’m not going anywhere,” Black said. “I’m only getting started.”

Black told Balance that he’s not a big planner, so it’s “too early” to know what his future holds.

“I spend too much time away from home. Maybe I’ll do a TV show here in town, so I can work the 9 to 5 and then get back home,” Black said.

“I don’t really look down the road. I kind of take it day by day. And if something comes up, you know, obviously if [Quentin] Tarantino comes a-knocking, I’m gonna do that movie!”

The “Jumanji” sequel is set for release in theaters on Friday.
