Chalk it up to bad timing and bad romance.
Allison Janney has won two Emmys for her role on “Mom,” but she has no regrets about not having kids of her own in real life.
“I think if I would have found the right guy at the right time who wanted to have kids, I probably would have with the right partner because I wasn’t ever really confident that I wanted to have kids,” the 61-year-old actress revealed on “The Drew Barrymore Show” Tuesday.
But looking back, Janney believes she made the right decision for herself.
“I would rather regret not having kids than have kids and regret that,” she said. “I’m OK with it.”
The “I, Tonya” star, who is currently single, told Drew Barrymore that only recently has she truly begun to learn what she does — and doesn’t — want in life.
“I really am this time in my life getting to know who I am and what I want,” she said. “I’d love to eventually find someone to share my life with, but if it doesn’t happen, I’ll be just fine.”
As for how she’s navigating her love life amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Oscar winner said, “Right now, I’m just virtually dating.” She went on to joke that her “latest crush is Rip on ‘Yellowstone.'”
Janney was previously engaged to her “Our Very Own” co-star Richard Jenik from 2004 to 2006. She was most recently linked to much-younger boyfriend Philip Joncas, who accompanied her to the Emmys in 2015. The pair split two years later.
