Goodyera macrophylla

This orchid that is endemic to Madeira island is without any doubt one of the rarest of the European orchids. Besides the fact that the plant itself is very scarce and rarely seen in the wild, it also flowers only once every ten to fifteen years. Making the oppurtunity to photograph them a very special moment.
