Abstract

Examination of herbaria specimens and living plants from several populations reveals that the diagnostic characteristics (grooved petioles, acute connectives and fruit wings extremely leaning to pedicles) are exactly consistent between Begonia naga from India and Begonia manhaoensis in China.  Therefore, B. naga is treated as a synonym of B. manhaoensis.
